There are a few tools available to resolve these errors and we will be looking into them in this article.
Internet Not Working
Check if your internet is working or not. If the company file is hosted on a separate server, then an internet connection will be required. If the internet isn’t working, contact your internet service provider and ask them to resolve the issue.
Cloud Service

Many cloud hosting providers do provide access to the data via a separate server, but that may not be the case with your service provider. To know, you can contact them for further information.
QuickBooks Diagnostic Tool

Once you’ve installed the tool on your system, begin a scan of the network. All of the errors will reported once the scan finishes, If the error resolution is within the scope of the software, then you can resolve it via this tool.
Windows Firewall
Windows firewall is the culprit behind many of the network errors faced while using QuickBooks. The security software blocks certain ports and access through them will always timeout. Hence, the user must manually allow connection through these ports.
To Check if Windows Firewall is Causing the Error, Follow the Steps Provided Below:
- Launch Control Panel.
- Select Windows Firewall.
- Click on Disable Windows Firewall.
Now open QuickBooks. If the connection is successful, the culprit was Windows Firewall. If so, then create permanent rules for windows firewall. This can done by creating separate inbound and outbound rules through the advanced firewall settings. These rules will enable you to connect to the company file without compromising on security.
Router
Router has inbuilt settings of its own. These settings defined by your internet service provider. ISPs can sometimes block connection through particular ports. This is done to protect the user.
