Thankfully, our QuickBooks help team is available round the clock and can deal with such advanced technical problems. In this article we detail some solutions through which you can resolve this error by yourself.
Bank Website Not Working
Sometime for maintenance and upgrades, banks usually put down their website for a while. Till the website isn’t back up, you cannot connect your bank account to QuickBooks.
Hence, you should log into the bank account and check if the website is working. If not, then you’ll have to wait. Once the website is back up, you can integrate your bank accounts with QuickBooks.
Network Connection
You network connection might be the main problem due to which the integration may cause an error. If you’re not connected to the internet, then the network connection will fail. Check if you internet connection is working properly before following the methods provided below:
Disable Security Software
If you’ve a security software like Firewall installed on your system, then this security software can block the network connection required for bank integration. This is especially true when you’re working with QuickBooks desktop. To deal with such problems, you should disable the security software and then try to integrate your bank account.
Creating Rules
In firewall, you can create specific rules for particular programs and ports. These rules are referred to whenever user tries to use a network connection. If in the previous step you were able to integrate your bank account but only after disabling Windows Firewall, then follow the steps provided below:
- Log into Windows. (Through an administrator account)
- Open Control Panel.
- Click on Windows Firewall.
- Select Advanced Firewall Settings.
- Click on Inbound Rules and Select New.
- Enter the Port through which you want to allow the connection.
- Select Allow.
- Type in a name and description for the rule.
- Click on Save.
- Repeat all the steps for creating an Outbound rule for the same port.
After successfully creating these firewall rules, you can easily connect to your bank account through QuickBooks .
Note: Make sure to type in a name and description for the firewall rule. Otherwise, you will have no way to reference to these newly created rules later.
If this still does not work, you can contact your internet service provider and inform them about this problem. They can then unblock the port from their side.
